Biography

Ralph D. Samuelson is a Principal Data Analyst at the NZ Ministry of Transport, where he led the effort to produce the New Zealand Transport Outlook: Future State. Prior to joining MoT in August 2015, he was Vice-President/Chief of Research at the Asia-Pacific Energy Research Centre in Tokyo, Japan from 2009-2014, where his work included leading the writing of two editions of the APEC Energy Demand and Supply Outlook. From 2004-2009 he was with the NZ Ministry of Economic Development, where he was lead author of New Zealand’s Energy Outlook to 2030.

Biography

Since joining NZTA in 2001, Colin has built relationships with key partners in road safety, strengthening a collaborative approach to data and research, producing specialist reports and leading in how analysis is applied across the Agency through investment, strategy, policy and programmes. Current work includes the development of a macro level integrated road safety intervention logic model.

Dr Kirsty Wild is a sociologist working in the fields of active transport and environmental health at the University of Auckland. She has a particular interest in cycling, and is currently the Research Fellow on the MBIE-funded 'Future of the Bike' research programme.
