Andy is a Technical Director at Beca Ltd with has 30 years’ experience in a wide variety of transport projects. He specialises in leading cycling and public transport infrastructure assessment and design projects, including the Beach Road Cycleway and Nelson Street cycleway projects for Auckland Transport. In the late 1990s he undertook his most enjoyable and challenging cycling commission to design the pilot Quality Bus Corridor and Cycle Route on Malahide Road in Dublin, Ireland. His involvement in these projects has given Andy a good understanding of designing effective cycling projects.

Bevan’s work with BetterWorld NZ includes a wide range of sustainable transport consultancy. He has worked towards the goal of walking and cycling across the AHB for more than 10 years, along with many other initiatives to improve transport choice for Aucklanders. Bevan originally trained as a chartered accountant at Otago and more recently undertook post-graduate studies in marketing through Massey and transportation at Canterbury University.
