                    John is a former US national road cycling champion who now plans and designs streets for all transport modes, ages and abilities. John prepares master plans, business cases, and undertakes a variety of transportation research. He has extensive experience in automatic data collection, demand estimation, and level of traffic stress modelling. Since 2016, John has curated the NZ Travel Planners website, collating resources for school and workplace travel planning. John's research experience includes providing for people on bikes in roundabouts (Austroads), red light camera efficacy (Auckland Transport), signs and markings for cycling (NZTA), and safety and legislation for low-powered electric vehicles (NZTA). He is active in the Engineering NZ Transportation Group and is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

                    Katherine is a Transport Associate with Aurecon who provides project management, transport planning and design coordination to a variety of transport and multi-disciplinary projects. Over the last five years she has worked closely with Opus as part of team 'Velos'  delivering the major cycleways projects. This project has provided an opportunity for a team growth mindset, whereby continual improvement is embraced and lessons learnt can be applied immediately to subsequent section/routes. Katherine draws on this growth approach across all projects, along with her people skills to draw diverse teams together to work through complex issues and deliver successful solutions.

                    Shelley is a Technical Director with WSP and has over 30 years experience in transport engineering and management.  For the past five years she has led the Velos team a WSP/ Aurecon consortium who are supporting Council in delivering the Christchurch Major Cycleways in Christchurch.   Shelley is demonstrating the success of this project by joining the increasing numbers of commuters swapping their car for a safer and more enjoyable cycle to work.

                    Luke is a Senior Transport Planner at MRCagney. He has over 5 years experience in public transport network planning and infrastructure design, transport strategy and active transport planning. He is based in the Auckland office, but has also worked extensively in Australia during this time, including on major projects in Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. A particular focus of his is improving how public transport better integrates with other modes and the public realm.

                    Ajjima is a PhD student in Transportation Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research is broadly concerned with the safety of pedestrians, including policy, actual and intended behaviors, and the analysis of pedestrian crashes. Before studying PhD, Ajjima has worked as a Transportation Engineer provided research support on the multi-level of highway projects and planning in Thailand and neighboring countries.
