Details

Emerging global risks, such as climate and cyber, make the task of diversification more challenging for the reinsurance market. Typical responses have been to reduce capacity and increase rates to meet the challenge. During this session the panel will discuss the challenges being faced by reinsurance providers, the sustainability of traditional responses and the flow through to primary insurers and their domestic and commercial customers. From a supervisors perspective, how does this flow through to setting prudential requirements? Is it possible that capacity and price constraints could lead to some risks becoming effectively uninsurable?
