Biography

Patricio Gallardo is a PhD candidate from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Canterbury. His field of research relates to transition engineering and constrained fuel supply transportation solutions. Nowadays he is working on the development of a model to assist the strategic planing of national freight transportation systems.

Biography

John Reid founded Austraffic in 1983. He is a Past National President of the AITPM (Australian Institute of Traffic Planning & Management, and has been a proud, long-time supporter of the organisation. He is a passionate campaigner for supporting the careers of people in the transport planning and management profession especially among young people. He continually pursues opportunities to personally learn and to make information available to as many people as possible. Biography

Alan has over 40 years of experience teaching, plus undertaking and supervising research, on a wide range of transport problems, including road safety, road network performance, and transport planning. He has twice been awarded Visiting Fellowships by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and has advised research funding organisations in Australia, Canada, Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand and Qatar. He was Director of the University of Canterbury’s Transportation Programme for 15 years and was Head of the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering for five years. He is now an Emeritus Professor at the University of Canterbury.
