Oli seeks to engage through listening to, and understanding, audiences and collaborators. As an experience interpreter, he translates complex or big picture thinking into meaningful communications. In 2014, Oli won the Institute of Management New Zealand’s Young Executive of the Year Award for his strategic influence at Wellington Zoo. Oli’s worked on strategies that have helped a variety of organisations including the Department of Conservation, Mulligan’s Flat Sanctuary in Canberra and Wellington City Council.

Tom blends data and creativity with communication to help organisations develop new strategies and make more effective decisions. Tom has built companies in New Zealand and the UK, and worked inside political organisations such as Wellington City Council (WCC). Over the last 20 years, Tom has worked with NZTA, ACC and WCC’s Transport Team on various initiatives aimed at improving uptake of active modes and road safety in New Zealand. Tom’s digital engagement and consultation work with WCC has been recognised by ALGIM, NZ Government and the NZ Designers Institute.

Glen joined ViaStrada in 2016, having spent the previous 12 years with the University of Canterbury, and prior to that with Opus International Consultants. He has a PhD in Transportation Engineering, as well as Masters and Bachelors degrees in civil engineering and computer science. At Canterbury, Glen taught and undertook research and consulting in a range of topics in transportation and traffic planning, traffic engineering and management, highway geometric design, road safety, engineering design, and professional engineering skills. Glen specialises in road safety and sustainable transport, with particular interest and expertise in walking & cycling and speed/traffic management.

Hjarne joined Dunedin City Council in 2015 after 6 years working for COWI in Denmark and before this 10 years at TDG. Hjarne has been heavily involved in traffic signals design, road safety and transportation engineering. During his time in Denmark Hjarne had the pleasure to work on 2 large Light Rail projects in two major cities in Denmark as well as several pedestrian and cycle improvement projects.

Claire Pascoe is the Lead Advisor Urban Mobility at the New Zealand Transport Agency. In her current role, she provides technical expertise and leadership in relation to rebalancing the transport system, providing people with genuine options for getting around our towns and cities and making them healthier places to be. She was previously involved in developing and delivering the Urban Cycleways Programme and managing the national cycling culture change team.

Donna Govorko: National Manager SADD - MSc (Hons), BPhEd, Dip Tchg
Donna Govorko is the National Manager for SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving), a youth led peer-to-peer education programme empowering young people to lead safer lives. Previously a Sergeant with the New Zealand Police as well as a secondary school teacher, Donna has long been focussed on community and road safety. Her broad-based life experience also includes time as a personal trainer and with the RNZAF. She has taken the opportunity to lead SADD, because she is passionate about living in a safe community and has devoted her career to finding innovative ways to successfully build community engagement and commitment to safer road user journeys.
