Andrew McGill is the Head of Integrated Network Planning at Auckland Transport. This team is responsible for the long term strategic transport planning across the full system and set of modes. Andrew is an experienced transport planner who has worked across public and private sectors in Australia and New Zealand. He has worked throughout the lifecycle from strategic planning through to delivery and operations and in his spare time likes to explore new places and see what their footpaths are like.

Matthew is a mobility planner who specialises in leveraging transport network investments to achieve broader public realm improvements. He has a PhD in Urban Design from Monash University and has held professional roles focused on increasing the accessibility and amenity of public transport corridors in the Los Angeles, Melbourne, and Seattle metropolitan areas. As part of Auckland Transport’s Integrated Network Planning team, he oversees the development and implementation of key strategic plans such as Future Connect and the Roads and Streets Framework.

Robin is a skilled transport planner, who brings strong intuitive planning knowledge, global insight and GIS analytical skills into his work. Robin studied Urban Design and Planning in the Netherlands, where he later worked on social innovation and placemaking projects in neighbourhoods facing high social deprivation. He moved to New Zealand five years ago and has been with AT for five years. He has been active in the organisation in various capacities, ranging from Community Engagement and Urban Design to his current role, as lead developer of AT’s Network Plan – Future Connect.

How to deliver Vision Zero faster and more effectively

Ping Sim is the Transport Safety Technical Lead at Auckland Transport. She leads Vision Zero thinking and advice at AT; working to notice safety problems and opportunities, think and reflect on what needs to done, and then ask ‘who do we need to bring with us’ and ‘how can we make this happen?’ She is currently leading the strategic work for Katoa Ka Ora, Auckland's speed management plan. Ping was commended for her role in leading the development of the Vision Zero for Tāmaki Makaurau, a transport safety strategy and action plan to 2030. She has 13 years’ experience in transport planning, demand management and road safety and holds a Master in Planning Practice (Hons) from Auckland University.

Dr Cathy Bebelman is scientist with expertise in the technical areas of environmental sustainability and transport infrastructure. Cathy has an extensive background and knowledge in the environmental impacts of infrastructure and transport networks, working as a researcher and consultant in this space for over 25 years. She is passionate about good science, evidence-based decision making and brings an alternative perspective to the more traditional approaches. In her current role she provides thought leadership to position Auckland for a lower carbon and greener future. As the Environment Programme Director, Cathy leads the environment, climate change adaptation and embodied emissions reduction programmes for Auckland Transport.
