Sharmin is a Senior Principal at Flow Transportation Specialists. She is an experienced transportation engineer, with a strong history of transport planning and transport engineering across a broad range of transport projects. Her experience spans business cases, cycling and bus priority improvements, public transport interchanges, road and intersection design, passenger transport investigations, analysis and design, cycle network planning, traffic safety, and town centre streetscapes projects. Sharmin is passionate about solving complex problems and developing robust cases for investment in transport systems to help shape and futureproof our cities and environments.

Swarnali is a Graduate Advisor, for the Urban + Place team at Stellar Projects Ltd. She is currently completing her PhD in Architecture and Design at Victoria University of Wellington. While studying, she has gained experience in intern roles as well as via published research.
Swarnali has a keen interest in walkability and how this can inform city development and urban design; her current research focuses on the walking behaviours of locals and tourists and how people interact with city topography, public life, and public spaces.

Sarah is a Principal Strategic Transport Planner at Tauranga City Council (TCC). She has 17 years’ experience in traffic and transportation management; in New Zealand and previously in the UK. Sarah has technical and project management experience, including Business Cases, and strategy and policy development. Sarah's role covers a wide range of transportation projects, but her passion lies in the active and sustainable travel space, and the interaction between transport and communities.
Sarah worked on the development of the Tauranga Street Design Toolkit during her previous role, and is now championing utilising the Guide and Tool within TCC on a variety of transportation projects.

Dr Michael Blewden (PhD, PGDip Evaluation, PGDip Community Psychology, MSocSci) is an evaluation specialist with over 25 years experience in applied social research and evaluation. Michael has particular experience in the development of programme and project level evaluation frameworks that deliver evidence for accountability, performance judgements, and learning and development. Having worked across multiple sectors, including public health, mental health and disability, education, and local government, Michael’s evaluation practice is focused on the provision of practical yet rigorous evidence that decision makers need to design programmes and projects that deliver public good outcomes.

Karl sees cities, and particularly city streets, as places of concentrated opportunity for making a difference to global challenges. He works towards transport systems that contribute to social inclusion, economic prosperity, healthier environments and people. Karl has worked on transport, land use and urban infrastructure policy, planning and decision-making at roles in governments, universities and consultancies across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

John Kinghorn is the Transport Systems & Analytics Lead with Hamilton City Council. He oversees real-time operations, Intelligent Transport Systems, and transport data collection & analytics.
John’s primary role is to make it easier and safer for people to move around the city through the creation of effective and reliable transport systems.
He enjoys pushing the envelope in what can be achieved with smart transport systems and the use of data and Artificial Intelligence to better inform decision making and improve operations.
John is a chartered professional engineer, a member of Engineering NZ, and a committee member of the NZ traffic signals user group.
Outside of work John is involved in youth work, setting up a small country homestead, and trying to find time for various hobbies such as DIY, smart home technology, building arcade machines and model aircraft.
