Tobie is an accredited project management professional (PMP) and a passionate traffic engineer / transport planner with 20 years’ experience.
He worked in the United Kingdom for 4 years doing traffic and transportation planning and design, in both the public and private sectors in the Greater London area, working mainly on Transport for London (TfL) funded public transport and active mode projects. These projects for example included public transport route studies, bus priority projects and London Cycle Network projects.
His experience whilst based in South Africa included an array of traffic engineering, transport planning and project management projects throughout Africa. These included rail-planning studies (Port Elizabeth, Durban and Dar es Salaam); bus infrastructure and operations studies (Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Kigali); and Transport master plans for various Metro, Local and District municipalities as well as for the Eastern Cape Province.
He moved to New Zealand in 2018. In his first year in Auckland he worked for Auckland Transport as the Infrastructure Operations Specialist within the Metro Service Delivery team. He joined Flow Transportation Specialists in 2019 as a project manager, business case practitioner and transportation engineer/planner.

Claire is an urban design specialist at Auckland Council. She has a BA(Hons) in urban planning, a graduate diploma in urban design and 15 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors in London and Auckland. Passionate about improving the safety and amenity of the streetscape environment and fostering a 'people-first' style of working, Claire has built up and led the Tactical Urbanism Initiatives (TUI) programme over the last four years. Examples of projects to date include Shortland Street polka dots, Sale Street traffic calming, Griffiths Community Gardens, St Paul Street parklets, Federal Street contra-flow cycle lane, Alfred Street PlaceKit, and Lower Queen Street place-making.

Wasim has a wide variety of skills in the areas of utilities, safety barriers, pavement engineering, cycleway designs and project management. Wasim’s recent experience has involved working as a Civils Team Lead for the Tamaki Drive Cycle Route and the Northern Pathway Concept Design projects, and he is currently working as a Construction Phase Support (CPS) Engineer for the Puhoi to Warkworth Motorway project.

Prakash is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Practice area assessor. Prakash is a widely respected Contractor’s Representative with over 30 years’ of civil engineering experience, predominantly in transportation projects, both overseas and in New Zealand. Over the past 10 years, Prakash has delivered many of Downer’s cycleways, road rehabilitation projects and marine structures for key clients such as Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and the NZ Transport Agency. His recent experience includes working from the client’s perspective in a role with Auckland Transport as Principal Project Manager for AMETI Eastern Busway 1. Currently Prakash is delivering the Tamaki Drive Cycle Route project as Contractor’s Representative for Downer New Zealand.

I am, Umer Malik, a Civil Engineer working for Beca in the Development Infrastructure team in Auckland. I started my career in 2017 at Beca following completion of an undergraduate degree in Architecture and a Master of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Melbourne.
The work I am primarily involved in focuses on public realm and stormwater design projects. The public realm projects that I have worked on most recently include Gisborne Inner Harbour Development, Wynyard Quarter Revitalisation and Karangahape Road Enhancements.
My responsibilities on Karangahape Road have evolved from being a member of the design team looking after the 3D modelling and stormwater design to assuming the role of Engineer’s Representative’s Assistant. I have been the main point of contact for both the contractor and client through the construction phase. I am motivated by being part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary project team whose work leaves a lasting impact on public life while helping our clients achieve their objectives.

I am Cory Manson, a registered Landscape Architect working for LandLAB in Auckland, New Zealand. I have been involved in a range of public realm projects across New Zealand, in both Auckland and Queenstown.
My professional interests have a strong emphasis on urban public realm change, equitable transport, and focusing on each project’s unique sense of place. I have been part of the design team on the Karangahape Road project since Beca and LandLABs involvement in 2015, working currently the Project Landscape Architect.
I have been involved throughout the consultation of the project, including setting up two sessions with a virtual reality setup that was able to show people the existing street, and potential options that were being consulted on. I am currently involved in the ongoing construction observation of the project which is progressing well towards completion in 2021.

Dr Pippa Mitchell, MRCagney - Pippa is a transport planner with a doctorate in Geography. She has extensive project management expertise for complex transport research and planning projects. She specialises in public transport projects from inception through to construction. This has included on-going involvement in the disruptions response to City Rail Link (CRL) construction since 2015. Pippa is passionate about sustainable transport and has managed several projects helping organisations to implement sustainable transport strategies. Pippa brings a professional approach to all her projects and with her academic background is always striving to improve and bring new ideas to any team.

Having lived and worked in a number of large cities overseas, including London, New York and Milan, she has a particular interest in improving the wellbeing of communities through the built environment, and ensuring that walking and cycling are real choices for their inhabitants.
