Claire Covacich is a transport planner with over 20 years of system planning experience, ranging from strategic planning to detailed design. Claire’s current role at Auckland Transport focusses on developing policy for public parking, as well as improving AT’s systems for managing this sought-after resource. Claire is passionate about creating an urban transport environment that is safe and sustainable, enabling quality of life for everyone in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Christel Hengeveld is the Transport Planning team lead at Arup New Zealand. Her technical expertise is in the field of pedestrian planning and modelling. Christel works with her clients to understand how people move through and use their assets, be it a train, a plane or a football stadium. Her background is in criminology, which drives her passion for planning spaces that are safe, pleasant and easy to use. Originally from the Netherlands, she’s spent the last 8 years working in London before making the move across to New Zealand mid 2021.

Jo is a Transportation Planner with 20 years’ experience in the private and public sectors gained in the UK and New Zealand. Jo has experience in project delivery, procurement, consenting, travel planning, cycle design, transport assessments, public consultation, economic evaluation and transport modelling. Jo has developed a specific skillset in public consultation and how it relates to consenting processes. She has also led a number of community consultation exercises, spearheading and facilitating meetings with landowners and key stakeholders and responding to feedback from these events. Jo has managed investigations of large scale roading projects, contributing to technical decisions and project management of business cases. She has experience in all aspects of project investigation from procurement, project planning, risk management, option development, design, contract management and stakeholder management. Jo is passionate about delivery through effective teamwork. She takes pride in quality outputs. She understands the importance of making and maintaining good relationships to enable project delivery. Jo used her teamworking and leadership skills in her current Land Development team leader role as well as her previous role as Chair of the NZ Transport Agency’s Wellington Regional Management Team, administrator for the Wellington IPENZ Transportation Group and administrator for a local tennis club.
