The guided bus tour will take you to Arataki, a progressive community in Mount Maunganui, building their own Te Whare Tapa Whā model to improve the community’s holistic health. We will visit some recent improvements, such as the Links Avenue bus lane trial, the Arataki bus facility and you will hear and see the tales about the history of the proposed removal of the underpass near Bayfair that led to local opposition that it was re-engineered back into the project. These projects will look to improve safety, convenience and journey times for people walking, biking and taking the bus within the Arataki area, whilst providing for good access to the Port of Tauranga.
