Melissa has been designing public transport networks in the Bay of Plenty for around 18 years, initially for school students in rural areas and more recently for all urban transport users. Her work at Bay of Plenty Regional Council allows her to use her knowledge of public transport operational requirements to optimise current networks and evaluate the impact of new technologies. Melissa has a strong interest in technology systems, especially relating to micro-mobility, public transport ticketing and tracking, and on-demand transport. She is currently on the Board of Directors of ITSNZ (Intelligent Transport Systems NZ) which regularly feeds her passion for learning about new technologies!
