Chelsea joined Nelson City Council this February as the City Centre Development Programme Lead. She holds a strong background in Urban Design through her work in the fast-growing suburbs of Maribyrnong City Council, the Western hub of Melbourne. Originally trained as an architect in the ski and mountain biking town of Bozeman Montana, she focused her early career on eco-architecture in Seattle, then off the grid timber frame outside of Vancouver, Canada. She shifted into the urban design realm while working with Rob Adams (the face of Melbourne’s city centre revitalisation) in the design team at City of Melbourne. A love of all things biking has been a constant through her location changes and has landed her in Nelson happily surrounded by world class mountain biking trails.
