Imran Muhammad is a Professor of Transport and Urban Planning at Massey University. His research argues for greater recognition of the role of politics, governance and history in transport policies and projects. He has contributed to knowledge on how a smooth institutional transformation towards low-carbon urban transport can be achieved. He has received grants from the Royal Society of NZ Marsden Fund and the NZ Transport Agency and has acted as a consultant for the World Bank.
