Orville Reyes is the Team Leader of Traffic Operations at Wellington City Council, with expertise in intelligent transport systems (ITS) and integrated network management. He leads the systematic operation of Wellington’s signal network, electronic signs, and sensor systems, ensuring that technology and governance are aligned to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.
His focus is on moving traffic operations from a reactive function to a data-driven, future-proofed system, where assets, digital tools, and operations work together as one.
Orville is recognised for his ability to integrate complex ITS solutions into everyday practice, helping to build resilience, optimise flow, and support the transition to smarter, more sustainable transport networks.

With over 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, urban design and project management, Amy is passionate about creating sustainable and liveable environments that enhance the quality of life for people and communities. As the Design Manager/Principal Project Manager within the Major Transport Projects team at Wellington City Council, Amy provides expert design and delivery advice and coordinates complex transport projects like Golden Mile and Thorndon Quay. One of her strengths is relationship management involving mana whenua, local government entities and key stakeholders like accessibility groups, residents’ associations, utility operators and business groups. Previously Amy was a Technical Advisory Group member to the Let’s Get Wellington Moving programme of projects specialising in urban design advice.

For the past 17 years Tim has been at GHD he has been involved in business cases, feasibility studies, strategic asset planning, and funding submissions for various government agencies. Since moving to New Zealand in 2015 he has primarily worked on major transport and water projects and has a passion for helping clients define and deliver projects which make our communities more resilient and productive as well as supporting social outcomes.

Courtney is a Senior Transport Engineer at Stantec based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. In recent years she has found herself helping councils and communities grapple with the impacts of a changing climate, and what that means now and 50-100 years from now.
The resilience and recovery space is rapidly changing as are expectations around the speed of recovery work. Courtney's friendly and frank approach helps communities navigate their way through some very challenging situations to an outcome everyone can (mostly) live with.

Dr. Hyun Chan Kim is a senior lecturer at the Centre for Engineering and Industrial Design at Wintec, NZ. He holds a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Canterbury and specialises in transportation planning, sustainable urban mobility, and mode choice modelling. With over a decade of teaching and research experience across NZ, the U.S., and S. Korea, Dr. Kim has led projects on micro-mobility, demand-responsive transport, and freight mode choice. His recent work focuses on resilient transport solutions for ageing populations and rural communities, aiming to inform data-driven policy and infrastructure planning.

Matthew is a Graduate Transport Engineer at WSP and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) graduate from the University of Auckland. He is currently working as a Transport Designer on the RoNS Mill Road Project, aiming to support growth and reliable travel between Manukau and Drury.
Matthew won the 2025 GT Murray Award for his final-year research presentation on pedestrian safety around public transport terminals. His interests include sustainable transport planning and micro mobility, with a focus on safer urban travel.
