Abel Reyna Rivera is a Timetable Analyst in the Operations Planning Team at Auckland Transport, where he has worked for over four years. In this role, Abel has led the scheduling and implementation of the Northwest and Crosstown bus network, conducted full-network timetable reviews, and contributed to several service optimization projects aimed at improving reliability and passenger experience. With over 11 years of experience in the public transport sector, Abel previously held key operational roles at Pavlovich Coachlines and Kinetic NZ (formerly NZ Bus), where he oversaw network supervision and service delivery. His hands-on experience in both frontline operations and strategic planning gives him a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in urban transit.

Steve James is a Principal Safety Engineer with Urban Connection Limited, bringing 37 years of transport and road safety experience across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He has an extensive background in road design, traffic engineering, and the application of Safe System principles to real-world transport projects. Over the past three and a half years with Urban Connection, Steve has led more than 80 Safe System Audits, in addition to numerous transport impact assessments, corridor studies, and road safety reviews for local councils, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, and private developers. His audit experience spans rural and urban environments, covering intersections, corridors, schools, and complex multi-modal projects. Steve is recognised for his pragmatic and evidence-based approach, drawing on both field experience and a detailed understanding of design standards, driver behaviour, and crash risk. He is passionate about delivering practical, affordable, and safety-led design solutions that achieve real improvements in road safety outcomes for all users.

Colin Shields is a Senior Principal Transport Planner with Tonkin & Taylor with over 35 years’ experience working in NZ and internationally, managing the appraisal, design and delivery of a wide range of transport and infrastructure projects and providing transport input to major land development projects. Leighton Gillispie is a Programme Manager within the Healthy Waters Commercial and Property Team responsible for managing the delivery of a wide range of Healthy Waters infrastructure projects across Auckland.

Darren is a Technical Director - Transport Advisory with over 18 years' experience in bringing traffic engineering principles to complex temporary traffic management activities. Darren is also the Chair of the TTM Industry Steering Group of NZ. His collaborative and pragmatic leadership style has enabled a fragmented sector to start working together to achieve success. Ryan Cooney is the Programme Director for Road Works Safety for the NZ Transport Agency with vast experience in the TTM sector as a client, the RCA, contractor and as a consultant. Ryan has played a pivotal role in shaping up the NZ Guide to TTM and is leading NZTA's continued transformation as it continues to embed the NZGTTM across it's operations.

Miguel is committed to highlighting the significance of having a plan for operating the network, to align with strategic intent and vision, and that it is possible to establish win-win outcomes for safety and the movement of people and goods in our cities. He has a transportation planning and engineering background, and been with Auckland Transport since its inception in November 2010.

Amanda Wolfaardt is the Corridor Manager at Wellington City Council, leading the coordination of infrastructure, utilities, and maintenance projects across the city’s busiest corridors. She plays a key role in integrating tools such as the Forward Works Viewer, Submitica and the Underground Asset Register to reduce conflicts, improve efficiency, and support smarter long-term planning. Amanda’s leadership is defined by her ability to bring agencies, contractors, and internal teams together around shared outcomes. She was instrumental in delivering the Lambton Quay Super Week programme, where a year’s worth of work was successfully completed in just five days through cross-sector collaboration. By combining technical expertise with collaborative leadership, Amanda is helping to transform corridor management from a reactive function into a strategic driver of resilience for Wellington’s future.
