Michael is a Technical Director at Flow Transportation Specialists, and walks a fine line between Transport Engineer and Transport Planner. His particular area of expertise is in walking, cycling and micromobility, and he endeavours to create healthier, more active and better-connected communities through all his projects.
His background in transport engineering, multi-modal transport modelling, and active modes planning and design gives him a unique set of skills, covering both the technical and the human drivers and levers that affect mode choice in our cities.

Louise Baker is a transport planner at Resolve Group with over 20 years' experience in transport planning across New Zealand and the UK. She brings a collaborative, systems-based approach to designing resilient, people-centred transport solutions. In 2024, Louise received the Biennial Transport Planner Award from the Transport Planning Society NZ.
Louise is passionate about helping cities to find their place in Nature. Last year, she led a project team that designed a Nature-based Solutions trial on Auckland’s motorway network, a project funded through NZTA's Crown Resilience Programme.

Ella is a Principal Transport Planner in Auckland Transport’s Active Modes Infrastructure and Planning team. She was the active modes planning lead and co-author of AT's Cycle & Micromobility Programme Business Case, leading the development and application of a prioritisation framework to inform AT's 10-year cycling investment programme.
With a passion for sustainable transport and urban development and a diverse background in economics, infrastructure advisory and transport planning, Ella is interested in driving transformational change and contributing to better outcomes for communities and the planet. Outside of work, she enjoys being out in nature with her daughter and husband (often exploring by bike!), playing indoor netball and a weekly pub quiz with friends.

Erik Van Der Wel is currently a Programme Engineer – Transportation at Waipā District Council, who has led key transportation projects such as the Cambridge Pathway and Cambridge Road urbanisation. Through his current position at Waipā District Council, Erik has developed a strong grasp of public sector project delivery, building on over 30 years of private and public sector experience in commercial property, civil infrastructure, passenger transport and residential land development.
Erik specialises in the effective and timely delivery of a broad range of public infrastructure projects, with extensive experience navigating statutory consent processes. He brings a collaborative and solutions-focused approach to project teams, consistently contributing to positive outcomes for the community. Erik’s ability to lead and influence within multidisciplinary teams ensures alignment with council objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Siva is a Transportation Engineer at Bloxam Burnett & Olliver Ltd with experience in transport planning and traffic engineering in New Zealand and Singapore. His expertise includes active transport network planning, cycling infrastructure design, road safety, traffic modelling and integrated transport assessments.
He also regularly works with Councils and stakeholders to deliver safer and more accessible transport networks. He was the design lead for the Cambridge Pathway project, which improves connections between schools, the town centre, and key cycling routes in Cambridge.

Steven is a Transportation Engineer in Stantec’s Christchurch team and has solid foundational knowledge of transportation planning (including economic analysis), transportation engineering, road safety, and transport design. The breadth of his interests allows Steven to be versatile and apply problem-solving techniques on a wide variety of transport projects.
His experience in all facets of transportation is expansive. It ranges across the following fields: economic evaluations, road safety engineering, traffic engineering, transportation design, cost estimations, and data analysis. Since the start of his career, Steven has developed a reputation for being a quick learner and has rapidly grown as a transportation engineer.

As a certified Human Factors professional, all of Hamish's work has the underlying theme of more human focussed systems and he has a particular focus on road safety and sustainable transport.
