Abstract

Biography

Mark is a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand, a Chartered (CPEng) an International (IntPE) Professional Engineer. He has a substantial background of leadership, strategy and technical experience, with a focus on major transport policy, land use planning and transport infrastructure. He advises on multiple Urban Design Panels, was an Industry appointed advisor to the review panel for the NZ Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure Standard (NZS4404) and has been a judge on the Engineering NZ Supreme Technical Awards for 10 years. Mark is a past National Chair of the ENZ Transportation Group and a past Director of the Trips Database Bureau Australia/New Zealand. He has also recently advised on the Waka Kotahi Integrated Transport Assessment (ITA) National Guidelines Review Panel. At Boffa Miskell, he is responsible for strategic transport planning advice, technical and quality control on transportation projects, co-ordination, liaison, and technical review roles that are essential to delivering great transport outcomes.

Biography

Roger is an experienced Transport Planner with 27 years’ multi-modal experience. He has a strong track record bringing collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams together. He’s practiced at working in both strategy and project development. He previously led a modelling and economics team, is skilled at interpreting modelling outputs and understanding its limitations. Roger has delivered some of the more significant corridor strategy studies within the Wellington Region including the Ngauranga to Airport Strategy Study and the Kapiti SH1 Strategy Study. Roger was also team leader for the Wanganui Urban Transport Strategy Study which was awarded a New Zealand Planning Institute Best Practice Award. In 2018 Roger achieved Better Business Case accreditation and since then has led the development of various business case for Transport, Water, and Tourism infrastructure as well as business case for improvements in organisational capability.

She is committed to enhancing connectivity, efficiency, and sustainability in transport projects through data-driven decision-making and collaborative engagement.

Rob has been the Engineering Lead on the Supporting Growth Alliance since the inception in 2018. He initially led the Design team to develop preliminary designs for the lodgement of Notice's of Requirement, was Transport Engineering Expert through the Council Hearting process, and has more recently been supporting both Waka Kotahi NZTA and Auckland Transport with the integration of the future Projects with current development.

Biography

Annie Bruckner is a Senior Transport Planner at NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi and the Path Activation Lead for Te Ara Tupua. She is an avid cyclist who also walks, uses public transport, and occasionally drives a car. Her favourite way to explore a place is either by bike or by foot, and she is very excited about the opportunities Te Ara Tupua will create for how people move around the region.

Biography

In 1994, after 8 years working in power systems engineering, Simon retrained and began working on cycling events, books and trail design/construction. Over a decade later, he took up a roll as a road safety and active transport coordinator. In 2014 he was appointed to the Cycling Safety Expert Panel, which completed the report - ‘Safer Journeys for People Who Cycle’. The following year Simon joined the New Zealand Transport Agency to help implement the report’s recommendations, including development of the Cycling Network Planning and Design Guidance. He has reviewed designs for numerous major active transport projects, including Te Ara Tupua.

Biography

Myles is a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand with over 25 years in infrastructure management. Myles currently holds the position of Chief Engineer at Auckland Transport, responsible for the engineering and asset management oversight of $30B of integrated land transport infrastructure. He brings deep institutional and systems knowledge of the public infrastructure sector, gained from his work with local, regional, and national entities, as well as his international directorships. Myles is currently serving on the Board of the NZUAG, where he chairs the Performance and Disputes Committee. Myles is also a Lead Assessor for Engineering New Zealand and an avid golfer.
