Sarah is a Team Leader, Traffic and Transportation, in Harrison Grierson's Tauranga office. She has over 13 years’ experience in traffic and transportation management; since 2010 in New Zealand and previously in the UK. Sarah has experience in both technical advice and project management roles, transport assessment, strategy and policy development, and travel demand management. Sarah's role covers a wide range of transportation projects, but her passion lies in the sustainable transport space, and the interaction between transport and communities.

Sid is a Senior Transport Planner at Mott MacDonald, based in Auckland. He has over seven years’ experience delivering transport, urban development and business case projects across Auckland and New Zealand. Sid is an advocate for sustainable transport and urban outcomes, and is particularly interested in improving the urban environment for people walking and on bikes. He likes to challenge conventional approaches, and look for opportunities to incorporate emerging best practice as part of solutions.

Successes and challenges of tactical urbanism

Claire is an urban design specialist at the Auckland Design Office (ADO) at Auckland Council. She has a BA(Hons) in urban planning, a graduate diploma in urban design and 12 years experience in both the public and private sectors in London and Auckland.
Passionate about improving the safety and amenity of the streetscape environment and fostering a 'people-first' style of working, Claire has built up and led the tactical urbanism programme at ADO, inspired by the work of Mike Lydon of Street Plans, New York with whom she has collaborated.
Examples of projects to date include Shortland Street polka dots, Griffiths Community Gardens, St Paul Street parklets, Federal Street contra-flow cycle lane, Alfred Street PlaceKit, and Eastern Viaduct place-making.

Kent is one of the leading Walking and Cycling specialists in Auckland. He works through the design scales from regional network planning down to detailed designs at street level.
Kent has particular expertise in liveable street design, public transport integration, and cycleway planning and design. Kent holds a Masters of Urban Design from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Kent’s unique experience allows him to bring together inputs from transport planning, urban design, walking, cycling and public transportation to improve project designs and decisions. He has been the technical and project lead for several key strategic cycleway projects in Auckland, including the recent Cycling Programme Business Case (2018 – 2028) and the Auckland Street Design Guide.
