It is my responsibility to understand New Zealand road rules. I accept that any injury caused to myself, ourselves or others during the period of the field trip is not the responsibility of the organisers.  

I have read the risk assessment form specific to my field trip and understand what Personal Protection Equipment and/or additional gear that I’m required to bring. It is my responsibility to wear sensible shoes and comfortable clothing.

I understand that there are certain risks associated with walking and crossing roads that cannot be reduced to zero. I acknowledge these risks and have made the informed decision to participate. I know I can ask any questions of the field trip leader (guide) to gain a better understanding of the activity before deciding whether I take part and the final decision about whether to take part or not is mine. 
 
If I decide to take part, I understand the guide will identify any significant hazards that are likely to arise and correct procedures to deal with these and that it is necessary for me to follow these. The guide will take all reasonable precautions to ensure my safety. If I act outside of this advice, then I acknowledge I do so at my own risk and may be instructed to leave the activity.
