Graeme has 35 years’ experience in civil engineering, predominantly as a Business Unit Manager, Team Leader, Project Director and Design Manager / Engineer. He has been a Chartered Professional Civil Engineer since 2001, is experienced in the design of civil infrastructure works and fully conversant with infrastructure standards and guidelines. In his current role as Technical Director – Civil Infrastructure, Wellington, for AECOM, Graeme is accountable and responsible for the technical performance of the Wellington civil infrastructure business group covering the lower half of the North Island and top of the South Island. He is a Civil Lead Verifier within Aecom’s Project Delivery System. More recently Graeme has been called as expert witness / advisor for roading and land development transport, stormwater, constructability and cost related matters associated with Notice of Requirements for state highways and local road designations. Graeme provides best outcomes to Infrastructure clients through leading, directing, managing and providing technical excellence across transport infrastructure. Graeme’s mantra to his team is “communicate, communicate, communicate” and to lead by example in delivering AECOM’s client promise of “ask, don’t assume; no surprises; the right solution on time, every time”. Graeme was involved in the P2M project from 2015 till its completion as the engineering lead for the consenting, detailed design and procurement phases of P2M and acted as Engineer to Contract at the start of the construction phase, transferring to leading the design support team during construction
