Oli du Bern
Engagement Strategy Lead
Wellington City Council
Co presenting: It takes a village to raise a bike network
9:30 AM - 9:50 AMBiography
Oli du Bern has been communicating complex information in digestible ways to help engage the community for over 15 years. As Engagement Strategy Lead with Wellington City Council, he has championed community centric thinking and transparent engagement to support street transformation work. His previous experience leading visitor experience at Wellington Zoo means he’s used to the occasional wild conversation about changes that make the biggest difference for our planet.
With a drive to make sure even the most time-poor amongst us has an opportunity to be heard, Oli understands how to design an online engagement experience that helps people share their views in meaningful ways, while also appreciating the authenticity and courage of face-to-face experiences.
When taking important time to escape from work, he can be found wrangling two young daughters or hitting the mountain bike trails around the Wellington region.
